About

When Julia Child was asked to what she credited her longevity, she replied, “red meat and gin.”  I immediately knew that quote would be the perfect title for my blog… which is really more of an archive of my most successful and delicious recipes. I greatly admired Julia Child and the impact she had on making food more approachable. I applaud her resistance of fads and fanatical conventions of health-consciousness and embrace her “everything in moderation” approach.  The basis of my recipes always focus on fresh, unprocessed, locally produced whenever possible, (well, I live in Wisconsin) whole food.  As a passionate cook, I immerse myself in most everything food related… read about it, watch it, write about it, analyze it and experience it. I’d be a happy, happy girl to spend every Saturday morning shopping the local farmers market and every single Sunday afternoon preparing a roast chicken dinner. But… the guy who eats what I make and is the grill master prefers a bit more variety in our menus. Drat!  When not cooking I also enjoy gardening, drawing, running (well, kinda) tennis, golf, kick boxing, photography, the web, Wisconsin sports and our cat, Henri.

Thanks for the visit!
